Millicent Russell

Millicent Russell is a unique jewellery range that takes inspiration from the past and incorporates it with present trends. Using rare, one of a kind vintage pieces made from lace, Bakelite, Lucite, enamel, pearl and crystal to name a few, each piece is designed to highlight ones individuality and style whether it be ‘elegant & suave’ or ‘ bold & entertaining’

For each season, the Millicent Russell showcase consists of two collections:

The Millicent Russell label was launched in the summer of 2006 and is now stocked in boutique stores in Canberra, Victoria, NSW, QLD and WA.

Reviving vintage themes, the Millicent Russell label offers designs to suit today’s contemporary styles.

The Millicent Russell Collections explore themes of Dance, Musical Theatre and Classic Films Genres.

The Designer

Born and raised in Canberra, Amelia Huang started designing Jewellery in school. She studied textiles, photography and art and slowly developed these techniques into her own style of jewellery.

Amelia lived in China for three years and there became inspired by the wonderful culture, striking colours and forms used in their artistic designs.

Following her arrival back in Australia she followed her dream of becoming Latin American/Ballroom Dance Champion. While competing she fell in love with the individuality, intricacy, boldness and exploratory nature of the costume designs.

Amelia’s creations combine her love for the arts, dance, classic Ginger Rogers/Fred Astaire and musical films, with her modern individual creative flair.

She dedicates her label to her late grandmother Alice who is the inspiration for all things Millicent Russell.
